ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Sealed or electronic bids for the construction of CHANCERY BUILDING PARKING LOT at EAST MARION ST. Pontotoc County, MS will be received by the Board of Supervisors for Pontotoc County at the Chancery building located at 34 South Liberty St. Pontotoc, MS 38863, until 10 a.m. December 15th, 2021 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. Sealed bids will be received until the designated date and time at Chancery building, Pontotoc, Mississippi. Electronic bids will also be received until the designated date and time via electronic online bid submission through www.esiplans.com.

Copies of the plans and documents may be viewed and/or purchased at Engineering Solutions, Inc. plan room at www.esiplans.com.

The work shall consist of: Construction of road improvements including earthwork, stone base, paving, striping, and signage.

Each bid submitted must be marked on the outside “Bid for: CHANCERY BUILDING PARKING LOT for Pontotoc County, MS. Any bid in excess of $50,000 must contain on the outside of the envelope the contractor’s current certificate of responsibility number, and no bid shall be opened or considered unless this number appears on the outside of the envelope or unless a statement is included on the outside of the envelope indicating that the bid enclosed does not exceed $50,000.
A satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder or an accepted Surety, a certified check, or bank draft payable to the PONTOTOC COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, on negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (at par value), shall be submitted with each bid in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total bid.

Minority and women’s business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, materials and/or supply needs. Pontotoc County is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Pontotoc County Board of Supervisors hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in a contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual preference, marital or veteran status or any other legally protected status in consideration for an award.
If applicable, the successful bidder must comply with the Davis-Bacon Act which requires that all laborers and mechanics shall be paid at rates not less than those determined by the Department of Labor to be the prevailing for the locality in which the project is located.
Bids may be held up to 60 days from the date of opening for review of bids and qualifications of bidders prior to Contract award. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in the bidding.
